Welcome to The Family Practice and Orthopedic Care Center, PLLC, the office of Yanni Chen, DO, Richard J. Hartman, Jr., DO, and Juvenal L. Castillo MD. Our office services South Central Michigan's family medicine and orthopedic needs. Dr. Hartman (orthopedics) is one of the first surgeon in Michigan to implant Oxinium long-lasting knee replacements using BrainLab Vector Vision, a state-of-the-art surgical navigation system. In addition to the computer-assisted procedure, Dr. Hartman is also one of the first to use a minimally-invasive technique designed to reduce tissue trauma and pain. Dr. Hartman specializes in total knee and hip replacements, arthroscopic procedures, and trauma. Dr. Chen (family practice) primarily provides general healthcare for patients age 12 and up, with a focus on geriatrics, women's health and preventative medicine. She also assists on many of the longer, more complicated surgical procedures for total joint replacement, trauma or patients with multiple co-morbidities. Dr. Chen feels this not only adds to the continuity of care for those patients already established with her, but it also allows for an added level of comfort and medical support not usually provided or available to the average surgical patient. Dr. Chen provides diabetic foot care, and diagnostic testing such as tests for carpal tunnel, osteoporosis, hearing, COPD, and asthma. She also offers wart, skin tag, and mole removal. Dr. Castillo (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) is currently Board Eligible and is in the process of acquiring his board certification in PM&R. Dr. Castillo is currently a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation (PASSOR), and the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Castillo's primary interest is in the practice of musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports medicine, pain management, and electrodiagnosis. He performs such services as EMG's, Epidural Corticosteroid Injections, and Facet Blocks for pain control. Dr. Castillo desires to establish the most effective and practical rehabilitation program for patients with the goal of reaching their highest level of functioning capacity, as quickly as possible. All three doctors feel it is important to provide educational opportunities. They frequently speak in the community on topics such as arthritis and joint replacement options. Also, in affiliation with Michigan State University and Des Moines University, Dr. Hartman and Dr. Chen teach medical students in both classroom and clinical settings. And Dr. Hartman trains practicing orthopedic surgeons on the minimally-invasive technique at professional seminars around the country. Power By leadingMD.com, inc. |
